Since 2012, Marta Bulaich has focused on marketing initiatives for Canaan and its portfolio companies. Calm and unflappable, Marta sees the forest and the trees. She handles shifting deadlines and multiple competing priorities without missing a beat... we blame it on all that yoga.
Before joining Canaan, Marta was a Network Associate at Draper Fisher Jurvetson where she managed marketing and collaborated on business development initiatives with the DFJ Global Network of 16 funds and their 400 portfolio companies. She also held marketing and strategic business development positions at startups including Capella Photonics, a telecommunications subsystems manufacturer, and Senvid, creator of MioNet, a remote access and file sharing service (acquired by Western Digital).
Previously, she was an Associate at Vanguard Ventures, where she was involved in all sectors of Vanguard's investing, particularly software and life science investments. Marta also worked at MedTech Ventures, a Vanguard sponsored medical technology incubator, providing seed stage companies with strategic planning, due diligence, operations, and fund raising advice.
Marta graduated Phi Beta Kappa and Sigma Delta Pi with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Scripps College with a major in Classics and minors in Chemistry and Latin American Studies.

Teaching, studying and practicing yoga; hiking; playing bass in Chandrama; and reading (and stalking) Anne Lamott. Just trying to take it bird by bird.
