Mikael is a physician-scientist-turned-investor who brings deep drug development expertise to Canaan as an Executive in Residence. Whether evaluating life sciences investments or advising portfolio companies, Mikael focuses on translating breakthrough science into transformative therapies. Previously, Mikael served as Chief Scientific Officer and President of Pfizer Research & Development for 16 years, overseeing the approval of over 36 medicines and vaccines. He holds an M.D. and Ph.D. in Tumor Immunology from the University of Lund, Sweden.
